Aerial Emergency Search Operations
Utilising technology originally developed for military purposes, we provide a unique service. Only offered to the formal Search and Rescue services in Devon we use a drone and specialised cameras to assist in searches for lost and injured people.
Our Drone
Our drone is the 5m (16ft) wide PD-2 UAS, it can fly for 8+ hours and is equiped with real time video and infra-red cameras.
It can take-off and land vertically and only takes 15 minutes to assemble / disassemble.
The PD-2 can also carry and release 8kg of emergency first aid, water and equipment.
Our mobile control centre
While our drone is cutting edge, our mobile control centre is "outdated" military surplus. In this case, a fully tracked, amphibius former ambulance.
We will be getting painted hi-viz bright red and upgrading the unit but it is ideally suited to urgently responding regardless of weather and road conditions.
Sadly, this is but a dream...but if I happen to come across a few £million, this is what I would like to do.
